Once your book becomes overdue, you can no longer renew it online yourself. You should bring the book and your ID into the library and talk to a member of the staff at the circulation desk to determine what the best course of action is for you. It may be possible to check the book out again.

Additionally, if your item has been overdue long enough it will be declared "Lost" and your library account is blocked and you will not be able to register for classes or request transcripts.  You will also be charged for replacing the item(s).  If you return the book you will no longer be charged for the replacement cost.
